Here's a picture of my grandmother, Mary F. McGrail. She lived to be almost 90 years old. Her friendly voice and hearty laugh always cleared my blues away. For many years a schoolteacher, she found children endlessly amusing and delightful. She loved dogs also, and during many of the years of my father's youth, they had a collie named "Duke". This picture was taken around the time I was born, in 1957.
