Behind the Shed (with Matthew McGrail)

Here's a view of the back of the shed, along with the clothesline. My brother, Matthew McGrail, is in the foreground. This picture is the best evidence I have for my theory that the shed is the original 1749 Bailey homestead. Note the odd position of the windows, a typical feature of a colonial settler's home. My grandfather covered the building with tarpaper as a way to attempt to preserve it. There was a clapboard exterior underneath this tarpaper. This is the only picture I have that shows the neighbor's home, the house which belonged to the Stone family at one time.

The logs were used for heat by the Underwoods, who lived in the in-law apartment.
