Sign in Front of Farm

This is the wooden sign that stood for many years in front of the garage, near the garden. You saw it as you drove in the circular driveway.

"Tir-na-nog" means "Land of the Free" in Irish Gaelic. John McGrail's parents were born in Ireland, so this was his name for the farm.

It took me a while to figure out that the shape of the sign is supposed to be a book, referring to the law books which filled the library of the farm.

The sign was made as a gift to Mr. McGrail by my mother, Mrs. Fe Corridan McGrail.
